Cypress
Bay High School is capped until the end of the current 2007-08 school
year, at which time the situation will be reevaluated. Capping is a
temporary measure and will not resolve the overcrowding at Cypress Bay
High School. The School Board is still looking at the boundary process
and other new school site locations as a potential means to relieve
Cypress Bay High School.
Any new student attempting to register at Cypress Bay High School after
October 16, 2007 will not be able to do so for the remainder of the
current 2007-08 school year and will be required to register at Western
High School. Capping of Cypress Bay High School does not impact grades
K-8. If new students moved into the Cypress Bay High School boundary
in a grade currently other than 9-12, those K-8 students would still
be able to enroll in their proper grade and matriculate through to Cypress
Bay High School as they would naturally. Cypress Bay High School capping
only impacts new students who would attend Cypress Bay High School for
the remainder of the current 2007-08 school year.
